Title: Mockingjay
Author: Suzanne Collins
Stars (out of 5): 5
Review: I highly recommend this trilogy; as the last book it really made me sad that there was no next book because these books just drag you into their world. Though the ending was sort of vague, it was a nice ending for Katniss and Peeta.

Title: The Hunger Games
Author: Suzanne Collins
Stars (out of 5): 5
Review: I couldn’t put this book down, and before I knew it, it was pass one in the morning; it was that captivating. This book makes you think about how life could actually be if say a world war or a natural disaster nearly destroyed the earth and the human race. At some points in the book I was a little creeped out, yet I kept reading because I was rooting for Katniss to make it through and win the hunger games for her little sister, Prim.

Title: How Tía Lola Came to Visit Stay
Author: Julia Alvarez
Stars (out of 5): 5
Review: I really enjoyed this book because The main charachter, Miguel, is learning spanish. Since my mom is from Ecuador, I’m learning it too. Also, Tia Lola helps Miguel learn how to make freinds easily, embrace his culture, and show his familly that he loves them. I think this book has a very important message, while it is still easy to read and understand. I’m definately going to read the sequel!

Title: Daughter of Smoke and Bone
Author: Laini Taylor
Stars (out 5): 5
Review: This book is one of my favorite books. Top favorites. This book was simply breathtaking and beautifully written. I applaud Taylor Laini, she’s done a fantastical job. There is absolutely nothing cliche about it unlike the other YA supernatural romance books. This story follows Karou, a mysterious girl with blue hair growing from her head, living in Prague. She is an art student and lives with her family of chimaera: half- human and animal. She discovers who she really is after being attacked by a deadly and beautiful angel, Akiva in Morocco to get teeth for Brimstone who raised her for her whole life. this gorgeous tale of love and myths is an absolute must-read. daughter of smoke and bone, heartbreakingly beautiful, will pull you in from the first word into a world of magic, romance, angels and chimaera and Prague you’ll never want to live and would visit again and again.

Review: The book is about three kids and their classmates who try to save and old house from being destroyed. I like this book because it was a mystery. I liked putting the clues together as i was reading. I think other kids will like this book because it is an adventure about kids their own age.

Title: Awakened
Author: Kristin and P.C. Cast
Stars (out of 5): 5
Review: This book was very good. There was a lot of action and I would reccommend it. However, it will make no sense if the previous books in the series are not read first.

Title: Looking for Alaska
Author: John Green
Stars (out of 5): 3
Review: I was really excited during the beginning of the book. I loved the idea of Miles going off to boarding school in search of the “Great Perhaps”. However, I couldn’t help but feel as if the characters and the plot were really forced on me, as if John Green REALLY REALLY wanted to make sure we knew exactly what the characters were feeling. The story and characters were powerful enough on their own, and would have made a bigger impact if it hadn’t been dragged out so long.
