Teen Book Review — Water for Elephants

Title:Water for Elephants

Author: Sara Gruen

Stars (out of 5): 4

Review: The protagonist is Jacob Jankowski. He joins a circus and falls in love with Marlena, the wife of August, who along with Uncle Al, is one of the leaders of the circus. Jacob befriends Walter, Camel and others along the way. I found this book very interesting. I really wanted to read it before I saw the movie that came out earlier this year. The plot moved quickly which made it enjoyable to read. Also, the characters were engaging and invoked feelings of sympathy that made the reading experience more enjoyable.
