There is a $40 fee to use the piano in the Lecture Hall, to be paid when the hall rental contract is
signed.
- Staff and volunteers may use the
piano for up to one hour free of charge, but the person must ask permission
through the executive secretary and have the time approved and
booked.
- The piano is not available for
practice by the general public.
- If the user wishes to have the piano
tuned the fee is $75 to be done by an approved Waltham Public Library technician.
Such payment will be made at the time of the contract signing, and in lieu of
the $40 fee. Scheduling of the tuning will be at the convenience of the
Library, in consultation with the user as far as is feasible.
- Money derived from use of the piano
will be put into the Friends of the Waltham Public Library maintenance fund (as
a line item in the annual budget). Money earned from this fund will be used to
pay for maintenance and upkeep of the piano as needed.
- Only the custodians are allowed to
move the piano, and they must receive notice of such a request in
advance.
- No food or drinks will be used in
the vicinity of the piano. No cups, glasses, etc., will be placed on the piano
at any time. Lessees will be responsible for any damage incurred to the piano
or the bench beyond natural wear and tear.
