From the IRS and Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR): The Tax deadline for filing has been extended until July 15, 2020. If you are able to file your taxes at this time, please do them so as not to burden the system for those who are not able to file taxes before the original April 15 deadline. Please visit irs.gov and mass.gov/dor for more information.

Free Tax Help for Those who are Eligible

- According to the IRS, “The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.”
