About the Waltham Room
The Waltham Room serves as the repository for the Waltham Public Library’s historical collections. These are organized into two main categories– the local history reference collection and the archives. All items are non-circulating and must be used in the Waltham Room reading room.
- The local history reference collection contains primarily published materials related to the history of Waltham, Middlesex County, and Massachusetts. It also houses an assortment of genealogical materials, ranging from how-to guides to immigration records and histories.
- The archives include historical manuscripts and personal papers, organizational records, photographs, publications, maps and atlases, ephemera, and other historical materials related to the city of Waltham.
